The Telecaster is one of the most recognisable and well-loved guitars out there and has held an iconic position for decades. With the American Ultra Series Tele, Fender have fitted this already perfect guitar with as-fresh-as-they-come upgrades for an even better playing experience. This solid body already comes with a timeless shape and this model has been blessed with an improved D-profile neck for a fast, agile feel and the comfort offered by a more rounded format. The enhanced fretboard radius starts at 10-inches rising to 14, making lead licks and extreme bends effortless and lending a tight grip to swift changes during rhythm parts. The rounder body contours, rounded neck heel and pocket cut-out ensure that nothing gets in the way of your playing.
American Ultra Telecaster: Classic Single-Coil Sound that never Grumbles.
Every member of the American Ultra Series has been mounted with the very latest generation of Noiseless pickups and as such, this Tele is loaded with two Ultra Noiseless Vintage Tele single-coils. As the name suggests, you're getting classic Telecaster sound with a clear signal and none of the annoying buzz and grumble associated with older models. At a glance, it looks like nothing about the controls has changed until you pop the S1 switch on the volume pot, flip the 3-way switch to the middle position and place both pickups in series, giving you an extra and unexpected humbucker sound.
Deliciously Laid-Back Playability
To maintain its classic look, any upgrade that this American Ultra Tele has been graced with have been executed with subtlety. The satin-gloss finished neck keeps playing supple even in the heat of battle and will never leave your fret-hand stuck, while your other hand rests comfortably against the bridge with no irritation from raised edges, since each of the six block saddles have been rounded off. When it comes to replacing the strings on this Telecaster, you get to experience the ease of its Deluxe Locking Tuners. Simply wind each string into the mechanics using the satisfying dials without any unnecessary and awkward winding, stretch our your fresh strings, and enjoy impeccably solid tuning stability. Amazing Guitar I love it.
I played this guitar in a Bax Shop in Amsterdam and immediately fell in love. It's the kind of guitar that I wanted for years. I really like the cutout on the back of the guitar, which makes playing while sitting more comfortable. It's kind of like the guitar is hugging you.
The wood of the neck is a very nice feel. I don't think that the moden D neck has that big of an impact on the playing overall. It's just a little different, but it doesn't change a lot.
The action on strings from shelf is not extremly low, pretty much standard I would say. The playability feels very good to me.
Last but not least the sound. The neck pick up has a very full and warm sound. I like that sound the most right now. Both pick ups at the same time sound very nice as well and the switch series gives and extra boost, which I think could be quite nice in a live set up for a quick change in sound. I'm not in love with the raw sound of the bridge pick up. the raw sound is quite thin to me, but I'm yet to experiment with different amp set ups. I like that I have some but not too many options on the guitar, because I wouldn't use it that much and it's a very clear set up.
Overall the guitar feels very high quality, exactly as expected and very happy with the purchase.

Ik ging voor een Tele "player" maar eens ik deze Ultra in mijn handen had
was de keuze snel gemaakt (alhoewel hij het dubbele - x 3 kost )
Toffe dienstverlening.
De gitaar klinkt reuzegoed.
Toffe klankcombinaties met push knop.
Ik gebruik hem zowel in een country groep als in een Big Band orkest.
De gitaar kan alles aan.
Wel ff moeten wennen aan de D hals maar speelt vlot en soepel.
